It’s going
on three months since I took office as Governor of our lodge and so far so
good. I am fortunate to have a talented
board of officers who bring lots of experience and I would like to thank them
for stepping up to the challenge with me this year. We started
this year off with a bang, within the first week of our term, all of the
officers and many members of our order showed up in Great Spirit to help up
install a beautiful lawn in our backyard.
The task was daunting but was accomplished in two days. It goes to show you that when we come
together as team great things can be accomplished. You may have
noticed the new suggestion box that was installed by the front door. I wanted this in place for member to share
their ideas. We as the board of officers,
don’t have all the ideas, we need you, the member or our lodge to share your
thoughts and ideas. If you can’t make a
general meeting and want to share this box is there for you. We have a
lot of things planned this year and it’s going to be exciting, bring your
family and friends and get them enrolled our lodge has a lot to offer to
all. I look forward to seeing you all
around the lodge. My Best, Ken Gurwell |

Established in 1913, the Women of the
Moose provides
social, sports, family and community service opportunities in a fraternal setting. Members of the Women of the Moose dedicate many volunteer hours to those in need, not only in their own Chapter and Lodges, but more importantly, to those in the community. |

MOOSEHEART CHILD CITY & SCHOOL is a residential childcare facility,
located on a
1,000-acre campus 38 miles west of Chicago. The Child City is a home for children and teens in need, from infancy through high school. Dedicated in July 1913 by the Moose fraternal organization, MOOSEHEART cares for youth whose families are unable, for a wide variety of reasons, to care for them. Some have lost one or both parents; others are living in environments that are simply not conducive to healthy growth and development. Whatever the reason, the men and women of the Moose, through unparalleled generosity and volunteerism, furnish the resources necessary to care for children in need. The Moose fraternity provides children with a wholesome home-like environment and the best possible training and education. Children live in one of thirty residences designed like a spacious single-family residence. Each is home for six to twelve children. The heart of the program is Family Teachers — providing a consistent, systematic method of care, with emphasis on social-skills development — skills essential for success in later life. It is Mooseheart’s policy to admit qualified children who have a need. The Admissions Committee considers all applications of children in need. For more information visit http://www.mooseheart.org/ |
